Need a second set of eyes for a book, article, publication submission or online material? Karen has a diverse range of editing experience ranging from medical to news, business and academic pieces. She has edited for business professionals at the Rotman School of Management, corporate clients, physicians and academics.

Karen worked as an Academic Assistant at the Queen’s University Writing Centre, and was in-house Assistant Editor for the medical communications company CTC Communications (publishers of Obstetrics & Gynaecology Canada, Gastroenterology Canada, Dermatology Times of Canada and Urology Times of Canada).

On the business side she worked as Associate Editor and Copy Editor for Your Workplace magazine, a Canadian magazine that fosters healthy, progressive workplaces and work-life balance. There she developed and managed all editorial aspects of the magazine and worked on branding and community-building strategies through the corporate blog. She increased digital followers and expanded social media platforms (increased monthly UVs more than 300% in seven months with editorial, blogging and SEO).

Karen is an active member of the Kingston Editor’s Group, a past member of the Editors’ Association of Canada and the Canadian Society of Magazine Editors. In the past she has enjoyed attending MagNet, Canada’s annual magazine conference held in Toronto, Ontario.

Karen has been writing engaging content and clear messaging through print and online media for more than 15 years. She can be found, pen or phone in one hand, rooibos tea in the other, weaning out the latest health, nutrition, digital and living trends, with the help of experts including physicians, naturopaths, researchers and business experts.

Currently she enjoys writing for her blog (Cedar and Cinnamon) on natural healthy living and enjoys offering a unique, “tried, tested and true” perspective on the latest health, nutrition, fitness and living trends in Canada.
